Sandiaga Provides Training for Housewives in Tanah Abang and Serang
The Yayasan Indonesia Setara (YIS) has made it its mission to open up employment opportunities and promote independence among housewives. To this end, YIS held training sessions at two locations.
The first training took place at RPTRA Hati Suci, Kampung Bali Ward, Tanah Abang Subdistrict, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (29/4/2026). In this session, organised jointly with Espas Indonesia, 80 housewives were taught marketing techniques for baking products, specifically Butter-Tteok, using AI.
The following day, YIS partnered with Rumah Zakat to conduct a Workshop on Baking and Cooking Thai Creamy Cassava and Banana Nuggets. This training, attended by 50 housewives, was held in Sukadalem Village, Serang Regency, Banten, on Thursday (30/4/2026).
YIS founder Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno stated that the training is designed to create business opportunities for women, particularly housewives. According to him, the programme not only focuses on production skills but also encompasses digital marketing, business development, and ongoing mentoring.
“Participants are expected to continuously hone their skills and will be supported until they can launch their own products or brands,” Sandiaga said in a press release in Jakarta on Monday (4/5/2026). He explained that the ‘Perempuan Berdaya’ programme initiated by YIS is one of the efforts to help micro-entrepreneurs advance to the next level.
