PT Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia has been observed carrying out a series of repurchase agreement (REPO) transactions on shares of PT Nusantara Sawit Sejahtera Tbk (NSSS) amid a rally in the palm oil company’s share price. A REPO is a short-term funding transaction in which a shareholder sells shares to another party with an agreement to repurchase them at a predetermined time and price. In capital market practice, this scheme is generally used to obtain liquidity without having to permanently relinquish share ownership.

Over a four-day period, the securities firm recorded several sale and purchase transactions of NSSS shares worth hundreds of millions of units. Based on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) disclosures, on 13 July 2026, Samuel Sekuritas sold 455,492,900 NSSS shares at a price of Rp555 per share for the purpose of REPO liquidation. On the same day, the company also purchased 228,714,900 shares at Rp600 per share for REPO placement.

A day later, on 16 July 2026, the company sold 459,415,400 shares at Rp755 per share for a top-down REPO. Following the transaction on 16 July 2026, Samuel Sekuritas’ ownership in NSSS decreased from 8,830,382,200 shares, equivalent to 37.10%, to 8,370,966,800 shares, or 35.17%.

Despite this, Samuel Sekuritas remains the largest shareholder of NSSS with a total ownership of 41.58%. PT Samuel International also holds 10.69% of NSSS shares, and PT Nusantara Makmur Lestari holds 9.5%. The series of REPO transactions took place amid a sharp increase in NSSS’s share price over the past month.
