Samsung has officially launched its Certified Re-Newed refurbished smartphones in India. Refurbished devices are second-hand smartphones that have undergone repair by the official manufacturer. As such, they are priced more cheaply than brand-new devices.

The Samsung refurbished range includes various series from flagship to mid-range. One mid-range refurbished model is the Galaxy A56 5G. The Galaxy A56 5G refurbished with 8 GB RAM is priced at 31,499 rupees (approximately Rp 5.7 million), cheaper than the new version priced at 33,999 rupees (approximately Rp 6.2 million). It is also cheaper than the standard new price of 99,999 rupees (approximately Rp 18.3 million).

All refurbished Samsung phones have undergone official repair and testing by Samsung before sale. Samsung refurbished devices undergo inspection, cleaning, testing, and detailed software validation at official Samsung facilities. Samsung ensures that refurbished devices are restored using original Samsung parts. Each unit is reset to erase prior user data and updated with the latest software available before sale. For packaging, Samsung boxes refurbished phones in a new box with accessories such as a USB cable, SIM ejector, and a brief user guide.

According to the South Korean company, the Certified Re-Newed programme in India aims to facilitate access to premium Galaxy devices for consumers while supporting longer product cycles. Refurbished Samsung phones are officially sold in India via Samsung’s official site, as compiled by KompasTekno from Gizmo China. It is not yet known whether Samsung will expand the availability of its refurbished phones beyond India.
