Samsung’s New Luxury Foldable Phone Expected to Launch in Late October
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Samsung’s new luxury foldable phone, called the Samsung W27, is expected to launch in China on 29 October 2026.
According to a Gizchina report on Friday (23 October), leaked photographs circulating ahead of the launch suggest that the W27 looks like a premium version of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.
The phone appears to have a dark blue finish, gold accents around the frame and camera module, and a gold W-series logo on the back.
Despite its different design, the Samsung W27 is expected to use the same hardware as Samsung’s flagship foldable phone for global markets.
Samsung’s W series offers more exclusive versions of the company’s foldable phones. Models marketed in China through China Telecom often feature more premium finishes, additional memory and more comprehensive sales packages.
The W27 is likely to follow the same strategy. Its dark blue body with gold details sets it apart from the standard Fold8 Ultra, while its triple rear-camera configuration appears similar.
Last year’s W26 was based on the Galaxy Z Fold7. It came in red and black, with gold accents, and included satellite calling and messaging in China through the Tiantong system.
The W26 was priced from 16,999 yuan, or around Rp46 million, for the 512 GB storage variant. The model with up to 1 TB of storage cost 18,999 yuan, or around Rp51 million.
The price of the W27 has not yet been announced.
The device is therefore likely to use a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, an 8-inch foldable main display and a 6.5-inch outer display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It is also expected to have a 200-megapixel main camera and a 5,000 mAh battery.
The W27 is likely to come with 16 GB of RAM as standard. Samsung also equipped both W26 models with 16 GB of RAM.
The W27 is expected to be sold exclusively in China, with sales handled by China Telecom.
