Samsung unveils AI-powered smart glasses with Gemini integration

Samsung has entered the smart glasses market with the introduction of new smart glasses powered by Google’s Android XR platform and Gemini artificial intelligence (AI), unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event in London, England, on 22 July 2026.

According to a Gizmochina report on Thursday (23 July), Samsung partnered with eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker to design the smart glasses’ frames so they do not appear bulky like typical augmented reality (AR) devices.

The Samsung smart glasses use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 chipset.

Samsung claims its smart glasses can be used for up to nine hours on a single charge.

The device comes with a charging case that can be used to fully recharge the glasses up to seven times.

The Samsung smart glasses are equipped with a camera that provides visual context for the onboard AI system, enabling it to recognise the user’s surroundings.

Samsung is offering two design options for the smart glasses.

The Gentle Monster variant features a slim black frame with a straight top line, whilst the Warby Parker variant has a brown frame with a slightly curved upper section.

Both smart glasses models are designed to be lightweight and comfortable to wear for extended periods.

The Samsung smart glasses rely on Gemini AI to carry out various tasks using voice commands, touch and gestures.

With camera support, the smart glasses can scan a whiteboard and convert the writing into digital notes, provide real-time translation, and assist with navigation.

In addition, users can share their point of view live during video calls.

The device’s AI can also summarise incoming messages and read them aloud to the user.

However, Samsung has not yet disclosed the price or the official launch date of its smart glasses.
