Samsung has finally addressed the desires of its high-end S-series enthusiasts by significantly increasing the battery capacity in its upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S27 Ultra.

This move was confirmed in an official list from Samsung’s battery manufacturer, which shows that the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s battery capacity will receive a substantial upgrade compared to the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

According to Gizmochina, the Galaxy S2lag S27 Ultra appeared in a Samsung SDI list, registered with a Samsung SDI battery under model number EBBS958DBY. These new details regarding the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s battery emerged shortly after previous reports regarding 60W fast-charging support had circulated.

This represents a major shift, considering the 5,000mAh capacity Samsung has offered for its top-tier model has remained unchanged since its introduction with the Galaxy S20 Ultra in 2020. If the measured capacity of 5,534mAh translates to a typical capacity of 5,700mAh, the S27 Ultra will finally break the 5,000mAh barrier that has defined the Ultra line for several generations.

In addition to the Galaxy S27 Ultra, battery leaks have also surfaced for the Galaxy S27 Pro, which is listed with battery EB-BS957CBY, offering a measured capacity of 5,087mAh and a likely typical capacity of approximately 5,200mAh.

Regarding charging support, the Galaxy S27 Pro also appeared on China’s 3C certification list with 60W fast-charging support. The 3C certification list also included the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus, with charging supports of 45W and 27W respectively.

With all four models now certified, Samsung’s Galaxy S27 series could arrive earlier than its predecessor, potentially launching as early as January 2027.
