Samsung Set to Bring Galaxy S26 Camera Features to Previous Generation Phones
Jakarta — Samsung is reportedly considering bringing camera features from its latest flagship Galaxy S26 series to previous generation mobile phones.
The feature in question is Virtual Aperture on the telephoto camera, currently available in the Samsung Galaxy S26, Samsung Galaxy S26+, and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
According to GSM Arena on Monday, 9 March (local time), Virtual Aperture could potentially be brought to Samsung Galaxy S25 Series phones through a software update, as the feature is entirely software-based.
User requests on the internet have been cited as one reason Samsung is considering bringing the feature, and a company executive has confirmed that the company is reviewing the possibility of implementing it.
Additionally, rumours suggest that the next generation Galaxy S Series phones, namely the Galaxy S27, are likely to reintroduce a variable physical lens aperture on the main camera. This technology was previously used by Samsung on the Galaxy S9 in 2018 and Galaxy S10 in 2019 before being discontinued.
