Samsung reveals six improvements brought to the Galaxy S26 FE
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Ilham Indrawan, MX Product Marketing Senior Manager at Samsung Electronics Indonesia, has detailed six improvements Samsung brings with its latest handset, the Galaxy S26 FE, the fourth model released under the Galaxy S26 series.
At the Galaxy S26 FE launch event in Jakarta on Monday, Ilham explained that the improvements cover aspects from the camera experience to easier data transfer services between phones.
“First, of course, is the flagship-class camera experience. Not only in terms of hardware, but also software, where we are providing the very best,” said Ilham.
In terms of physical specifications, Samsung has made no changes to the rear camera, retaining the configuration of a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera.
However, the experience with these three cameras has become more significant for content creators, as the phone is equipped with a range of new features that are Samsung’s mainstays, both in the Galaxy Z Fold8 series and those introduced with the Galaxy S26 series.
Next, there is the Horizontal Lock feature, first introduced in early 2026 when the Galaxy S26 series was launched, which allows users to capture stable images even whilst moving actively.
There is also Photo Assist with Galaxy AI. With the increased Galaxy AI capacity, users can now edit their photos using AI prompts directly in the gallery without needing to switch to third-party applications.
Meanwhile, on the front camera, Samsung has brought an improvement in the form of a wider angle for taking photos.
Where the previous generation offered a standard selfie angle of around 80 degrees, the Galaxy S26 FE gives users a field of view as wide as 85 degrees, allowing more objects to be captured.
Flagship AI features such as Now Brief, Now Nudge, Circle to Search 3.0, and the latest Gemini Live, previously available on the Galaxy S26 series and the Galaxy Z Fold8 series, are now available on the Galaxy S26 FE. Despite being offered at an affordable price, a top-class, up-to-date AI experience can be enjoyed on the phone.
Ilham said the third improvement is on the chipset side. Whereas the previous two FE generations were offered with 4nm chip architecture, the Galaxy S26 FE now stands apart as the first FE model equipped with a chip built on a 3nm process.
This is because the Galaxy S26 FE is fitted with the Exynos 2500 chip developed by Samsung. The chip, previously embedded in the Galaxy S25 and S25+, is promised to deliver 51 per cent better AI performance on the Galaxy S26 FE compared to its predecessor.
The fourth improvement offered on the Galaxy S26 FE is the latest operating system, which even the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra have not yet received.
“So, if you look at it, the Galaxy S26 FE is actually the first S series smartphone to come with One UI 9.0 and Android 17 straight away, even though its older siblings have not yet received this update. It has the newest starting point for the OS,” said Ilham.
The fifth improvement brought to the Galaxy S26 FE is a design that aligns with the other models in the Galaxy S26 series.
Although it is more affordable, the Galaxy S26 FE retains the minimalist design found in the Galaxy S26 models, giving a clean look in the user’s hand. The phone is available in three colour options: Pistachio, Graphite, and Blueberry.
Finally, the improvement Samsung has brought to this phone is the increased ease of transferring data from a previous phone.
Previously, in earlier generations, users had to download the Smart Switch application on their phone to transfer data from an old phone to a new one.
Now, users simply need to scan the QR code available on the Galaxy S26 FE, and data transfer from the old phone can take place wirelessly, making data migration far easier.
