Samsung prepares major Galaxy OS operating system update
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Samsung is reportedly preparing a major operating system (OS) update for One UI 10, or Galaxy OS, which is expected to debut alongside the launch of the Galaxy S28 flagship phone range.
A Gizmochina report on Wednesday (14 October), local time, said the launch of Galaxy OS is predicted to coincide with One UI’s tenth anniversary.
According to technology tipster phonefuturist, Samsung is working with Google to bring deeper artificial intelligence (AI) integration to Galaxy OS.
At the same time, the OS’s AI development plans also include options to integrate paid third-party services.
This means Samsung is expected to adopt a two-track strategy: AI features built into its devices, alongside optional services from third-party partners that may incur additional charges.
The overhaul is therefore being described as a long-awaited fresh start for users.
Samsung, meanwhile, has reaffirmed its commitment to AI development amid growing discussion about public fatigue with and resistance to the technology.
A key question now is which AI features will remain free and which could become paid services or subscriptions.
However, all these plans remain unofficial and could change before the Galaxy S28 range is unveiled.
