Samsung prepares AMOLED panel production for Galaxy S27 Series
Samsung Display is reportedly beginning mass production of AMOLED panels this month for use in the Galaxy S27 Series, following the commencement of mass production for the Exynos 2700 chipset that will be integrated into the phone series.
According to a report from GSM Arena on Friday (2/10) local time, Samsung Display is targeting shipments of approximately 47 million to 48 million panels for the Galaxy S27 line. This figure is roughly 10 per cent higher than the panel shipment target for the Galaxy S26 series, which was in the range of 40 million units.
The introduction of the Galaxy S27 Pro as a new model in the product line is one of the reasons for the increased production target at Samsung Display. Samsung Display has been requested to prepare between 2 million to 3 million panels for the Galaxy S27 Pro this year, which will then increase to 4 million to 5 million units in 2027.
The 2026 panel production does not mean that the Galaxy S27 Pro will be launched in the same year. The panels are being prepared to be available for the phone assembly process in early 2027, which is also expected to be the launch period for the entire Galaxy S27 range.
Furthermore, the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are said to feature ‘Privacy Display’. This feature, previously introduced by Samsung on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, functions to limit the screen’s viewing angle, making it difficult for people surrounding the user to see the screen.
