Samsung Launches AI-Powered Smart Glasses Under Two Brands

Samsung’s AI smart glasses have officially debuted at the Galaxy Unpacked event on Wednesday (22/7/2026). The device is supported by Android XR and the Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chip, which is specifically designed for thin and lightweight smart glasses, distinguishing it from the XR2+ Gen 2 chip used in the Galaxy XR.

Samsung has integrated the glasses with Google’s Gemini AI assistant, tailored for wearable devices. Utilising the built-in camera, the AI assistant can process information and present it directly to the user. The camera also supports first-person video recording and can display the surrounding environment during video calls.

Additional features include the ability to summarise long messages and read out key information, as well as a real-time translation function to aid communication when travelling in countries where the local language is not spoken. The smart glasses also provide real-time navigation to destinations and can offer information about the surroundings when visiting a location or taking a tour.

Smart glasses create a new interaction point, delivering more personalised AI assistance in the moments that shape everyday life,’ explained Won-Joon Choi, Chief Operating Officer of the Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics.

Samsung has partnered with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker for the design, resulting in two distinct styles. The Gentle Monster version features a sleek black frame with a straight top edge and rounded bottom edge, while the Warby Parker version comes in a brown colourway. The device can be operated via voice commands for hands-free use, by touching specific areas on the temple, or through a connected device.
