Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra to Feature Increased 5,000mAh Battery Capacity

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra foldable smartphone is reportedly set to feature a larger battery capacity and faster charging support compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, released last year.

According to reports from Gizmochina on Wednesday, based on information shared by tech leaker Ice Universe, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to carry a 5,000 mAh battery with 45W wired charging support. If this information proves accurate, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will present a notable upgrade in battery and charging aspects compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which was equipped with a 4,400 mAh battery and 25W charging technology.

For several recent generations, Samsung has maintained a 4,400 mAh battery capacity across the Galaxy Z Fold line. Meanwhile, competing models in the foldable segment, such as the Oppo Find N6 and Honor Magic V5, have offered batteries of up to 6,000 mAh.

Although a 5,000 mAh capacity does not yet match its competitors, this increase in battery capacity could reduce the disparity in battery endurance, which has been a common complaint among Samsung foldable users.

Circulating reports indicate that Samsung is preparing two foldable models within the Fold 8 lineup. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is said to retain a tall and slim outer screen design similar to previous generations. Meanwhile, another model, previously rumoured to be named the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, is expected to feature a shorter and wider design. However, recent reports suggest Samsung may market this model simply as the Galaxy Z Fold 8, without the ‘Wide’ suffix.

The regular Galaxy Z Fold 8 model is also rumoured to receive a battery upgrade to 4,800 mAh, featuring the same 45W charging support as the Ultra variant.
