Samsung Galaxy S27 Rumoured to Pack 200MP Camera Sensor
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Although expected to launch in 2027, leaks about the camera technology to be embedded in the Samsung Galaxy S27 are beginning to circulate. Citing GSMArena on Wednesday (4/3), according to tech leaker Digital Chat Station, Samsung is currently preparing a flagship 200MP camera sensor from the ISOCELL line described to have the codename HPA. The sensor is said to feature a large size of 1/1.12 inch and could debut on smartphones in 2027. The new sensor is also said to support LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor), designed to improve dynamic range and image quality in both high and low lighting conditions. Although not explicitly naming the Galaxy S27 Ultra, speculation suggests that the sensor will most likely be used on the Ultra model of the next generation. Meanwhile, another tech leaker, Ice Universe, offered a different claim. He says the Galaxy S27 Ultra may use a modified version of the HPA sensor called HP6. The sensor is said to have a slightly smaller size, namely 1/1.3 inch, but still capable of delivering performance comparable to the larger HPA version. If this information is accurate, improvements in the camera sector could be a significant move for Samsung, given that the Galaxy S series has generally used relatively similar sensors across several recent generations.
