Samsung Galaxy S27 Could Be Launched at a Higher Price
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Samsung may sell the Galaxy S27 at a higher price than its predecessor as the company’s profit margins come under severe pressure from soaring memory component costs.
Sam Mobile, citing a South Korean publication on Sunday (11 October), reported that Samsung could raise prices for the Galaxy S27 series by US$75–100, or around Rp1.3 million to Rp1.7 million, next year.
However, it did not specify whether the increase would be compared with the revised price of the Galaxy S26 or its original launch price.
Samsung has raised prices for the Galaxy S26 series in most markets. Prices have also risen by as much as US$200 (around Rp3.5 million) in South Korea, its home market, where Samsung usually offers its best prices for products, for this year’s flagship series.
Raising smartphone prices could help the company break even, or even make a profit, amid soaring memory-chip prices.
In addition to increasing phone prices, Samsung is reportedly considering cutting production to improve the financial position of its smartphone division.
The company is said to be planning to reduce smartphone production by up to 30 per cent compared with last year in the fourth quarter of 2026, in order to cut costs and protect profit margins.
