Jakarta (ANTARA) – Details about Samsung’s latest mid-range phone, the Galaxy A58, have emerged, with the latest leak focusing on its camera specifications.

According to a Gizmochina report on Friday (16 October), the Samsung Galaxy A58 is expected to retain exactly the same camera resolution configuration as its predecessor, the Galaxy A57.

The phone is projected to feature a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 5-megapixel macro lens and a 12-megapixel front camera.

So far, the leak has covered only resolution figures, with no confirmation of sensor sizes, lens apertures or hardware changes.

One feature highlighted in the Galaxy A58’s camera set-up is the 5-megapixel macro lens. Samsung first introduced this type of camera on the Galaxy A51 series in 2020.

The phone will also once again lack a dedicated telephoto lens.

By comparison, the Galaxy A57 was launched early this year with a 50-megapixel main sensor (1/1.56-inch class, with OIS), a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera and a 12-megapixel front camera.

Several reports say Samsung began work on the Galaxy A58’s hardware a few months ago and has now moved on to software development.

The phone is expected to launch running Android 17 and Samsung’s One UI 9.5 interface.

Rising component costs, particularly for memory chips, are thought to be the main reason phone makers are not introducing significant upgrades to their mid-range handsets.

As a result, the Galaxy A58 is expected to offer photography features broadly similar to those of the previous generation. Any improvements are likely to depend largely on image-processing optimisation and new features in One UI.
