Jakarta (ANTARA) - After similar details emerged about the Galaxy A58, the latest information suggests that the more affordable Galaxy A38 will follow a familiar path when it launches next year.

According to Dutch website GalaxyClub, cited in a Gizmo China report on Friday (16 October), the A38 is expected to have the same camera set-up as the current Galaxy A37: a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera and a 12-megapixel front camera.

It remains unclear whether Samsung plans to use newer sensors behind those specifications.

This fits a broader pattern Samsung appears to be following with its 2027 A-series cameras: keeping familiar hardware and making meaningful improvements through software, better processing or image refinements.

Upgrades are more likely to come elsewhere, perhaps in the processor, battery, display or overall system experience, although no firm details about those components have leaked yet.

Prices are also continuing to rise. In Europe, the Galaxy A36 launched in 2025 with a starting price of about €379. The A37 arrived this year at €429, and its official price has since risen to €469 in some markets.

Some observers already expect the A38 to approach €500 at launch, partly because of higher component costs, particularly for memory.

The A38 and A58 are both expected to be released around March or April 2027, shortly after the Galaxy S27 series launches. The unchanged camera set-up may disappoint those hoping for a more substantial hardware upgrade.

However, this is consistent with Samsung’s recent approach to this segment, focusing more on software support, build quality and small refinements elsewhere. Clearer specifications are expected to emerge as development progresses and the launch draws nearer.
