Samsung forced to raise prices due to rising RAM costs

Samsung is reportedly forced to raise prices of its released devices due to continuously rising RAM component costs.

According to GSM Arena’s report on Tuesday, 26 May, most smartphone manufacturers, including Apple and Samsung, have so far absorbed memory chip price volatility through optimisation and cost-cutting in other components.

However, if this trend continues, major manufacturers like Samsung may still be compelled to increase product prices.

Price hikes in Europe are expected to take effect from June 2026, affecting the Galaxy S series, Galaxy Z Fold7, and Galaxy Z Flip7 models, with each device estimated to see a €100 increase (approximately Rp2 million).

The report does not specify whether only base-memory models will be affected, but higher storage variants are also likely to see price rises.

Industry analysts predict broader electronic product price increases from the second half of 2026.
