Jakarta (ANTARA) - Samsung is reportedly beginning to expand support for the cross-device file-sharing feature similar to Apple’s AirDrop to more Galaxy phone models through a Quick Share update. According to SamMobile, as reported on Sunday local time, the feature first appeared on the Galaxy S26 series via a software update that allows users to exchange files with iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices. Now, a similar feature is being extended to several older devices such as the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S24, Galaxy S25, and Galaxy Z Fold 7, although it is not yet available through a full system update. Several users have also reported that the option only appears after performing additional updates to the device firmware, Google Play System, and Google Play services. This indicates that the feature activation is also being carried out gradually through the server system, so it is not yet uniform for all users. Reports from Galaxy Clubs suggest that this compatibility likely requires an Android 16-based operating system as the foundation for support, and it will function fully on devices running the stable version of One UI 8.5. For now, the feature is still in the testing phase and is expected to function optimally through further updates in the future.
