Samsung donates to W. Java PASI

JAKARTA (JP): West Java's Indonesian Amateur Athletics Association (PASI) received on Sunday a contribution worth Rp 10 million (US$1,150) from South Korean PT Samsung Electronics Indonesia (SEIN) to develop local athletes.

The contribution consisted of two electronic score boards and money presented by SEIN director Kim Suh Kyum to the West Java association's secretary, Rahmat.

"We expect the contribution will motivate our athletes to further improve their performance," Rahmat said.

The handover was held prior to the Samsung 5.6 K Fun Run, which attracted 5,228 participants in three categories: families with children aged under 12, families with over-12 children and individual.

"These events are part of our continuous efforts, which started three years ago, to support Indonesian sports," said Kim. (025)
