Samsung Announces Latest Bixby Version: Search for Hotels and Control Your Phone Simultaneously
Jakarta — Samsung has announced a beta programme for the latest version of Bixby, with enhanced functionality as a conversational device agent.
The upgrade makes interaction with Galaxy devices more intuitive, allowing users to simply ask for what they need using their voice. Additionally, it expands access to up-to-date answers from the internet.
Since introducing the first artificial intelligence (AI) smartphone in 2024, Samsung has been committed to making devices increasingly easy to use so that more users can benefit from AI.
To support this objective, Samsung has redesigned Bixby to interact in a more natural manner with intuitive device control, thereby reducing barriers in users’ daily activities.
Bixby enables users to control and navigate Galaxy devices using natural language, without needing to know the exact setting names or commands, as quoted from Samsung’s official website on Friday, 20 February 2026.
Users do not need to learn the device’s menu structure or remember specific terminology to accomplish tasks — they simply describe what they want or ask why something is happening on their device in their own words.
Bixby will understand the user’s intent and take appropriate action, thereby reducing the time and effort required to manage daily device settings and features.
For example, if a user says, “I don’t want the screen to turn off while I’m still using it,” Bixby will understand the request and immediately activate the ‘Keep Screen On While Viewing’ setting, without the need to browse through settings or know the feature’s name.
Rather than offering generic instructions, Bixby can also recognise the device settings currently in use and suggest various possible solutions. This minimises the trial-and-error process, helping users complete tasks more quickly, even when they are not yet familiar with the device or its features.
If a user asks, “Why does my phone screen keep turning on when it’s in my pocket?” Bixby will use the context of the situation and display the relevant setting, such as Accidental Touch Protection, allowing the user to enable it directly.
