PT HM Sampoerna Tbk (Sampoerna) continues to affirm its commitment to contributing to development in various regions of Indonesia, in line with the company’s consistency in various community empowerment and national economic programmes. With this commitment, Sampoerna has successfully become one of the companies receiving an award at the 2026 West Java CSR Forum, organised by the West Java Provincial Government through the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda). Sampoerna’s Head of External Affairs, Romulus Sutanto, said this award holds significant meaning for the company and has become a source of pride for Sampoerna. “We express our gratitude for the appreciation given by the West Java Provincial Government, as well as all partners who have enabled good collaboration so far,” Romulus said in a statement on Monday, 15 June 2026. He added that West Java is a region of strategic relevance for Sampoerna, both from an operational perspective and in terms of the company’s social contribution. “West Java plays a very important role for Sampoerna, with its dynamic economic and social ecosystem. Therefore, we continue to promote CSR initiatives that are aligned with the needs of the local community and support regional development priorities,” he said. This activity is part of the West Java Provincial Government’s efforts to appreciate the synergy between the business world and the regional development agenda, as well as being the culmination of the annual activities of the West Java CSR Facilitation Secretariat. The event, held at the West Java Provincial Bappeda Office in Bandung on Thursday, 11 June 2026, was attended by various stakeholders, including representatives of local government and CSR partner companies that have contributed to development programmes in West Java. During the event, the Regional Secretary of West Java Province presented awards to companies deemed to have actively contributed through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes, including Sampoerna. The award was received by Emmiryzan, Sampoerna’s Stakeholder Relations Manager. The 2026 West Java CSR Forum also served as a momentum for the West Java Provincial Government to convey the performance of the current year’s CSR programmes and the priority direction for future development programmes. Through this award, it is hoped that the synergy between local government and the private sector can continue to be strengthened to support inclusive and sustainable development in West Java.
