Sampang Social Agency Begins Identifying Potential Students for the 2026-2027 School Year

Sampang (ANTARA) - The Social Agency (Dinsos) of Sampang Regency, East Java, has begun identifying potential students for the People’s School (Sekolah Rakyat) for the 2026-2027 academic year.

According to the Secretary of the Sampang Social Agency, Muh Nasrun, in Sampang, on Friday, the identification process is being carried out because teaching and learning activities at the People’s School in Sampang are planned to begin in the 2026-2027 academic year after the construction of the school is completed.

“According to the target set by the Ministry of Social Affairs, the construction of the People’s School building in Sampang will be completed in June 2026, and this will be followed by the implementation of teaching and learning activities,” he said.

According to Nasrun, the number of potential students who can register at the People’s School in Sampang is 94,472 children of school age, according to data provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.

He explained that these tens of thousands of children come from the first and second deciles, namely families with the lowest level of welfare. They will be selected to meet the quota of seats at the People’s School in Sampang.

Sampang Regency is included in the Integrated People’s School program, which covers primary, junior, and senior high school levels. The total number of students needed reaches 270 children.

“The need for each level is 90 students, so the total is 270 students,” he said.

According to Nasrun, the identification process is carried out selectively. Officers not only verify the data of potential students but also ensure the readiness of parents.

“We are targeting that the identification process will be completed by June at the latest. Currently, the stages are still in the form of socialisation and field data collection. It is still in the outreach process. The results may only be seen during the final stage,” he said.
