Sampang Police Foil Drug Trafficking, Courier Arrested with 3kg of Methamphetamine

The Sampang Police Resort’s Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) foiled narcotics distribution. A courier identified as ‘S’ was arrested during the operation. The activity was carried out on Sunday, 22 February 2026 at around 16.00 WIB, in the Ketapang district, Sampang Regency, said Sampang Police Chief AKBP Hartono in a statement cited on Thursday (5 March 2026). The arrest began from police investigations over several days around the location. The Satresnarkoba team then arrested the suspect riding a motorcycle in the Ketapang area. ‘He admitted his wrongdoing,’ Hartono said. Police seized a number of items, including 3 kilograms of methamphetamine, a motorcycle, and a mobile phone. The suspect faces a maximum prison sentence of 20 years. ‘The penalties charged here are in accordance with Article 114 paragraph 2 of Law Number 35 of 2009 on narcotics, which provides a minimum sentence of 6 years and a maximum of 20 years,’ Hartono said.
