Salvo and Marching Band Honour Arrival of Sixth Vice President Try Sutrisno's Casket at Kalibata Heroes Cemetery
Jakarta — The casket of sixth Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Try Sutrisno arrived at Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP Kalibata) in South Jakarta on Monday, 2 March 2026, for a military burial.
The coffin, draped in the Indonesian Red and White flag, was immediately received by TNI personnel from the Presidential Security Unit upon arrival at the site.
Based on observations in the field, the funeral procession entered the cemetery area accompanied by the sound of marching band drums and ceremonial gunfire salvo as a final mark of respect. The casket was then transported to the designated burial plot.
TNI personnel were positioned along the entire route leading to the grave site. The burial proceedings were conducted with full military ceremony.
According to information gathered, President Prabowo Subianto was scheduled to serve as ceremony inspector. Several TNI soldiers carrying ceremonial swords were prepared to participate in the final honours proceedings.
The grave was prepared adjacent to the resting places of Pramono Edhie Wibowo and Ani Yudhoyono, located not far from the tombs of third President Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie and his wife, Hasri Ainun Besari.
Officials were seen arranging the ceremonial proceedings, whilst mourners began arriving to pay their final respects. TNI personnel stood guard at several security points whilst awaiting the casket’s arrival.
Try Sutrisno passed away at the age of 90 at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto Hospital in Jakarta on Monday at 06.58 WIB.
