SaloneSatellite Permanent Collection Makes Indonesian Debut at Indonesia Design District PIK2 This September
Indonesia Design District (IDD) PIK2 is proud to host the SaloneSatellite Permanent Collection Exhibition 1998–2026. The iconic exhibition, making its debut in Indonesia, specifically showcases 55 selected works from a total of 415 objects curated through Salone del Mobile.Milano, the world’s largest and most prestigious furniture and interior design fair.
SaloneSatellite itself is a prestigious exhibition from Salone del Mobile.Milano dedicated to providing a platform for visionary ideas from talented creators under the age of 35. This Permanent Collection was established as a living archive to document its long journey since 1998. Over nearly three decades, the collection has recorded a significant history of global design evolution, illustrating how initial ideas or experimental prototypes successfully penetrated the manufacturing industry, were mass-produced, and ultimately recognised as contemporary global icons.
Scheduled from 18 September to 18 October 2026 at Townhall IDD PIK2, the exhibition is a key highlight of the annual Indonesia Design Week (IDW) 2026. Jakarta becomes the third international destination for the Permanent Collection, following Hong Kong in 2024 and the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. Its presence at IDD PIK2 also marks the first stop in the latest international tour of Salone del Mobile.Milano, opening a new chapter in the collection’s global journey.
This collaboration represents a strategic move for IDD PIK2 in strengthening Indonesia’s role on the global design stage. The SaloneSatellite Permanent Collection bridges Italian design heritage with Indonesia’s growing creative ecosystem. The exhibition also provides an interactive space for designers, architects, business players, developers, students, and design enthusiasts to meet and appreciate ideas, skills, and innovation.
