Furthermore, management is also unable to confirm whether there is any connection to the Company’s export transactions or activities. Management further emphasised that the news does not have a material impact on the company’s operational activities. “There is no material impact from the news on the Company’s operational activities and/or financial condition or the Company’s business continuity,” management wrote. In the information disclosure, SIMP conveyed that there is no other material information or important events that could affect the company’s viability or share price that have not been disclosed to the public. As previously reported, Malaysian media widely highlighted reports concerning the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office questioning Maybank regarding PT Salim Ivomas Pratama. Several outlets such as The Edge Malaysia, Free Malaysia Today, and The Star carried this news citing Bloomberg with the title “Indonesia authorities question Maybank staff over Salim exports”. It stated how “Indonesian authorities interrogated bankers at the local unit of Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) as part of their investigation into alleged export flows involving the Salim Group”. The report linked the news to an investigation launched last month into 10 major Indonesian crude palm oil producers over alleged manipulation of crude palm oil export prices, though it was unclear whether Salim Ivomas Pratama was included. “The questions focused on transactions related to the export activities of PT Salim Ivomas Pratama, one of the largest palm oil producers in Indonesia,” the sites wrote citing sources. “Bankers from Maybank Indonesia brought boxes of documents to the Attorney General’s Office last week to face questions as witnesses,” the report added. Maybank Indonesia, in a press statement to CNBC Indonesia, said the company’s actions were part of a cooperative stance towards the authorities. “The fulfilment of the summons for Maybank Indonesia employees is part of the company’s cooperative attitude in the process being carried out by the competent authorities,” a Maybank spokesperson said on Thursday (11/6/2026). Maybank stated that the company always adheres to applicable rules and regulations and follows prevailing analysis and prudential principles in providing credit facilities.
