Jakarta (ANTARA) - Officers at the Class I State Detention Centre (Rutan) in Central Jakarta foiled two attempts to smuggle drugs into the facility in a single day on Monday. The first attempt occurred during the morning visiting session at 10:50 a.m. Western Indonesia Time, when a female visitor with the initials NA was caught trying to smuggle a liquid substance suspected to be the narcotic Etomidate, concealed in a 60 ml cough syrup bottle. Approximately 30 ml of the prohibited liquid was seized for further examination. The second attempt was thwarted during the afternoon visiting session at 2:40 p.m. A female visitor, identified as MU, 39, was subjected to a strict body search by female officers, who discovered a package suspected to be methamphetamine with a gross weight of roughly 8 grammes hidden inside her hair bun.
