Saleh Djasit Commends Pekanbaru Mayor's Efforts to Repair Teluk Leok and Tobek Godang Roads
After nearly a decade of neglect without repair, Teluk Leok Road in East Rumbai District has finally begun being resurfaced across 2.5 kilometres by Pekanbaru City Government under Mayor Agung Nugroho’s leadership. This improvement represents a response to community grievances that have persisted for years regarding the need for road repair.
The condition of Teluk Leok Road had deteriorated significantly, prompting frequent complaints from residents as it disrupted daily activities and posed safety hazards to passing motorists. The commencement of road resurfacing has been welcomed by the community, who feel their aspirations have finally been realised.
This infrastructure improvement extends beyond Teluk Leok Road alone. Pekanbaru City Government is also resurfacing roads in Tobek Godang District, Bina Widya Sub-District, spanning 2.9 kilometres. This initiative forms part of the municipal government’s commitment to improving road sections that have long been a source of public complaint.
Residents view the commencement of these road repairs as evidence that Mayor Agung Nugroho’s leadership has delivered tangible change to the community.
Appreciation for these efforts has also come from Riau community leader and former Riau Governor Saleh Djasit. He expressed gratitude to Pekanbaru Mayor Agung Nugroho for his attention and commitment to improving infrastructure that has long been a community need.
According to him, road development that was previously deteriorated and is now undergoing repair will have significant impact on residents, particularly in supporting public mobility and economic activity.
“I thank Pekanbaru Mayor Agung Nugroho for paying attention to the condition of the community’s roads. This repair will certainly greatly assist public mobility and its benefits will be directly felt by residents,” he stated.
Pekanbaru Mayor Agung Nugroho emphasised that road infrastructure improvement is one of the city government’s priorities. He stated that the administration will continue working to improve road sections that have long been sources of community complaint on a phased basis.
According to him, every community aspiration represents a mandate that must be realised through concrete action. The repair of Teluk Leok Road, which went untouched for nearly a decade and is now being restored to smooth condition, serves as evidence of this commitment.
Pekanbaru City Government continues to strive to ensure development is evenly distributed throughout the city, so residents can directly benefit from the various development programmes being implemented.
