Bogor (ANTARA) – A new section of Saleh Danasasmita Road in the Batutulis area of Bogor, West Java, has begun opening to the public on a restricted, alternating basis during a trial period ahead of the scheduled completion of construction on 30 October 2026.

Hariono, general superintendent at PT Promix Prima Karya, said in Bogor on Tuesday that the road would open according to circumstances and with adjusted timings, as several finishing works were still under way.

“God willing, we ask for everyone’s prayers so that the work is completed on time and without any other problems,” Hariono said.

He said Saleh Danasasmita Road was open to the public until 7pm on Tuesday (27 October), while on Wednesday (28 October) it was scheduled to operate from 7am to 7pm.

The alternating opening system was being used so the public could continue to travel along the road without disrupting the completion of construction work, he said.

Work still under way included finishing the junction between the existing road and the new section, which required compaction before the surface could be asphalted.

Hariono said the project covered 270 metres of Saleh Danasasmita Road: 220 metres of newly built alignment and work on 50 metres of the existing road.

The road has two carriageways with a total width of eight metres, and pavements measuring about 2.6 metres on one side and 1.8 metres on the other.

A utility duct has also been installed beneath the pavement to accommodate future supporting infrastructure.

“Beneath it there is a duct for utilities. So if PLN or another utility provider needs to install something later, there will be no need to dig the road up again; we have already prepared it,” he said.

He said the new alignment had also been designed with attention to the area’s layout, including landscaped gardens and green space along the road.

Road users approaching from Jalan Lawang Gintung can enjoy views of Mount Salak, while the entrance to the new alignment features landscaped gardens.

From Batutulis Station, the area includes Leuweung Batutulis, which forms part of the greenery around the existing road.

The new section of Saleh Danasasmita Road is managed by the West Java Provincial Highways Agency’s UPTD Road and Bridge Management Unit for Service Area I, with PT Promix Prima Karya as the contractor.

The project is part of efforts to restore transport access in Batutulis after ground movement affected the old section of Saleh Danasasmita Road.

Hariono added that construction was due to be completed on 30 October 2026, after which the formal handover process would take place once all works had been declared complete.
