Sale of BNI shares
Sale of BNI shares
From Bisnis Indonesia
PT Danareksa Director Glenn M. Yusuf stated that priority is given in the sale of BNI shares to investors who can afford to buy one lot only (Bisnis Indonesia, Nov. 6).
PT Danareksa had previously made statements to the contrary. It said that one form could be used for applying for more than one lot, and each lot would get a number for the lottery.
I went to a sales agent at the Jakarta Stock Exchange and bought 100 lots on one form only, in the hope of receiving the promised 100 numbers for the lottery.
I would like to ask Mr. Yusuf how he could know for certain that one applicant for shares is limiting himself to buying just one lot and does not fill out other forms? It is generally known that photocopies of the application form circulate widely, obtainable at a price of up to Rp 3,000 each. What prevents the same person from applying for hundreds of lots, using one photocopied form for each lot?
Is it justified for the director of a company the size of PT Danareksa to make a misleading statement to the community? If so, where can we get accurate and truthful information?
