Salary of Merah Putih Kopdes Managers Equivalent to BUMN Employees? Here's What the Deputy Minister of Cooperatives Says

Prospective managers for Village/Urban Ward Cooperatives (Kopdeskel) Merah Putih are beginning to seek information on the amount of their salaries if they pass the selection process. However, as of now, there is no official information regarding this matter. Here is the explanation from Deputy Minister of Cooperatives Farida Farichah. Quoted from detikFinance, Farida admitted that her side cannot yet reveal the exact range of figures for the salaries of Merah Putih Kopdes managers. She said that the determination of salaries is the authority of Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. “Please confirm with the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), we are waiting for the process there, yes,” Farida said, quoted from detikFinance, Friday (8/5/2026). Farida also did not elaborate much when asked whether the standard salary for these village cooperative managers would be aligned with other State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) employees. Clearly, she emphasised that all technical details regarding salary components are still in the discussion stage at Kemenkeu. “It is being prepared at the Ministry of Finance,” Farida explained. Meanwhile, Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Ferry Juliantono gave a signal that the budget source for these managers’ salaries comes from the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN). “That is still being discussed by the Ministry of Finance. (The salary budget from APBN?) From the Ministry of Finance means from, roughly like that,” said Ferry. Quoted from detikFinance, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has previously spoken about the financing for the salaries of 30,000 Village Cooperative (Kopdes) Merah Putih managers. Purbaya said that the salaries for Merah Putih Kopdes managers have a clear scheme and even the underlying regulation has been signed. The funding source for these salaries does not come from new additional budget allocations, but from the remaining allocations of the Kopdes Merah Putih programme that have not yet been absorbed. This is because the formation of cooperatives targeted each year has not been fully realised, so there are still funds that can be utilised in the meantime. “The scheme will allocate it to several related ministries and institutions. Like this, Kopdes Merah Putih is allocated several per year, right, not all have been formed yet. There, there is still excess money that can be used for that in the meantime. That is only for the next two years,” explained Purbaya at the Ministry of Finance office, Central Jakarta, Monday (4/5/2026).
