The government is beginning to reveal the initial framework for the employment scheme for participants who pass the selection for the Merah Putih Village Cooperative. One aspect under the spotlight is the employment status and future career path.

In the initial stage, accepted participants will work under Agrinas before switching to the cooperative.

“For the first two years, it will be under Agrinas, after that they will become cooperative officers,” said Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs office on Monday (4/5/2026).

This scheme is prepared as a transition period before the cooperative operates fully independently. Selected participants can first learn at the state-owned enterprise in the food sector.

“So the two years is the initial assignment period before they enter the cooperative structure,” he said.

Regarding salaries, the government has not yet detailed the amount or funding scheme.

“The salary will be discussed and conveyed by the Ministry of Finance at the appropriate time,” he said.

However, he assured that the payment source will still come from the scheme prepared by the government through Agrinas.

“Because this is under Agrinas, of course Agrinas will pay,” said Zulhas.

Details of the funding source will be decided in the next stage. Currently, the process is in the discussion phase.

“The next scheme will be decided,” he said.

This programme not only focuses on recruitment but also on competency building for selected participants. Participants will undergo basic training, including managerial training and reserve components (Komcad).

“After the announcement, it will be followed by basic military training and managerial training,” he explained.

The government hopes this scheme can create human resources ready to manage village economies professionally.

“To all participants, learn and follow the process well. The best ones, insyaallah, will be selected,” said Zulhas.
