Salah Sirong Bridge in Aceh Ready for Permanent Construction
The Government has begun executing the initial phase of permanent bridge construction in Salah Sirong village, Jeumpa sub-district, Bireuen Regency, Aceh province.
This infrastructure development project is being carried out to strengthen connectivity for communities in the region.
The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has commenced the initial construction phase of the bridge with soil investigation activities as part of technical preparation for the main construction.
Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo stated that early construction work has been initiated through borehole logging at three locations to ensure soil conditions before main construction begins.
“Construction work has commenced with borehole logging at three locations as part of the initial construction phase. This is being done to ensure soil conditions and technical readiness before main construction begins,” said Dody.
The structure was selected as it is considered effective for accelerating connectivity recovery whilst providing better safety standards for road users.
The technical design of the bridge is currently in the finalisation phase. Once this process is completed, main construction work is scheduled to commence in April 2026.
The permanent bridge construction represents a continuation following previous emergency measures undertaken to maintain community connectivity in the area.
The Ministry of Public Works estimates that the entire bridge construction work will extend until December 2026 whilst prioritising safety and work quality to ensure the infrastructure provides optimal benefits to the community.
This construction also forms part of the Government’s efforts to maintain regional connectivity and support community mobility and logistics distribution in Bireuen Regency and surrounding areas.
