TOKYO (Reuters): Eisuke Sakakibara, Japan's Vice Finance Minister for International Affairs, will visit Singapore and Indonesia beginning today, a finance ministry official said.
Sakakibara will visit Singapore first and is expected to arrive late Wednesday night, the official said, adding that the length of his stay in each country was not yet determined.
"(The length of his stay) has not been decided. He will decide depending on what happens when he's there," the official said.
He said Sakakibara was visiting Indonesia to see first-hand progress of talks between Indonesian authorities and the IMF, but declined to comment on his visit to Singapore.
