Sailors missing after ship sinks
SINGAPORE (AP): Divers were searching for two Dutch and three
Filipino seafarers missing after their ship capsized in
Indonesian waters two days earlier, the vessel's owners said on
Thursday.
Four Dutch sailors and one Filipino were also injured and
flown to nearby Singapore for treatment, the ship's owner,
Dockwise NV of Belgium, said in a statement.
The Mighty Servant 2 was transporting heavy industrial
equipment when it flooded and capsized off the Indonesian island
of Singkep on the night of Nov. 1-2, the statement said.
Crew members boarded life rafts and were rescued by fishermen
who took them to Singkep, Dockwise said.
The ship was en route from Okpo, South Korea, to Angola, and
had stopped for supplies in Singapore before it sank.
