Sailendra offers Indonesian food
Sailendra offers Indonesian food
With almost all of the country's ethnic groups having their
own traditional food, there is no shortage of exotic dishes
available in the country.
It may take months to taste each of the dishes. Yet, JW
Marriott Jakarta Hotel is organizing an event at its Sailendra
restaurant where people can taste an array of dishes from across
the archipelago.
The Indonesian Food Festival, from Aug. 7 to Aug. 17, will
offer dishes from all the provinces of the country, ranging from
cosmopolitan Jakarta, charming Sumatra, rustic Java and mystic
Bali.
The menu includes nasi tumpeng (rice cone), soto ayam (chicken
soup), satay, gado gado (vegetables in peanut sauce) and jajan
wajik, among other delicacies.
The festival will also feature recipes from the Javanese
nobility with family recipes from Kartini, a Javanese noblewoman
of the 19th century.
