Saiful Mujani Questioned by Metro Jaya Police: Hopefully It Will Be Cleared Up

Political analyst Saiful Mujani complied with a summons from the Metro Jaya Police to undergo questioning regarding an alleged incitement report on Thursday (4/6). Saiful will be asked for information by investigators from the State Security Sub-directorate of the Metro Jaya Police’s General Criminal Investigation Directorate in his capacity as the reported party. He admitted he was ready to provide information during the examination process.

“Ready, yes, to provide clarification, that’s the invitation. So hopefully it will be cleared up,” Saiful said before the questioning at the Metro Jaya Police. Saiful stated that he did not prepare physical evidence to submit to investigators. According to him, all the evidence was in his memory. “All the evidence is in my head,” he said.

Previously, the Metro Jaya Police received two reports against political analyst Saiful Mujani regarding alleged incitement. One of the reports was filed by an individual named Robina Akbar from the East Jakarta Community Alliance to the Metro Jaya Police, registered under number LP/B/2428/IV/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA, dated 8 April 2026.

Regarding the report, Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, urged the public not to drag this case into the realm of political issues. “We also invite everyone to be wise together, not to frame the reports from these two citizens regarding criminalisation as being brought into issues of ethnicity, religion, and race, or politics,” Budi told reporters on Friday (10/4).
