Saiful Mujani Calls on the People to Overthrow Prabowo, This is Seskab Teddy's Response

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya responded nonchalantly to Saiful Mujani’s statement regarding the overthrow of Prabowo Subianto from the presidency. He claimed not to have known about it yet.

“I still have a lot of work. I haven’t seen what he said. Something like that,” Teddy told reporters at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/4).

He added that he also did not know whether President Prabowo Subianto was aware of it or not. What is certain, added Teddy, is that Prabowo is busy with various other major and important matters.

“Especially the President, the President is handling big things, currently focused on more strategic matters,” Teddy stated.

It is known that Mujani, who is the founder of Saiful Mujani Research & Consulting (SMRC), stated that Prabowo cannot be given advice or criticism. He assessed that Prabowo can only be toppled by the people.

“If advising Prabowo doesn’t work either. The only way is to topple him. That is saving, not saving Prabowo, but saving ourselves and this nation,” Mujani said at an event for observers titled Before Observers Are Regulated.

“In my opinion, the alternative is not in the formal procedure like impeachment. That won’t work. The only way is can we consolidate ourselves to topple Prabowo? Only that,” Mujani stated.

Previously, Deputy General Chairman of the Gelora Party who is also Deputy Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Fahri Hamzah hoped that the public would not open room for unconstitutional actions.

“We suggest speaking within the concept of constitutional democracy, do not give permission and space to unconstitutional actions. Because that will be dangerous, there are many types of unconstitutional actions,” he told reporters at the Presidential Palace on Monday (6/4). (E-3)
