Said PDIP: We No Longer Think About Jokowi
PDIP Central Executive Board Chairman, Said Abdullah, has responded to statements from Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo, regarding his intention to meet with PDIP Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri, as reported by former PDIP member Achmad Hidayat. Said emphasised that PDIP and Jokowi are now on different paths.
It is known that during the meeting, Achmad revealed Jokowi’s statements regarding his relationship with PDIP Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri. The contents of that meeting were subsequently reported by Achmad to the PDIP Central Executive Board.
“We have diverged politically; we are different now. PDIP remains firm in its position,” said Said at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (14/09/2026).
He asserted that the party no longer considers Jokowi. Said mentioned that his party is now solely focused on guiding the party forward.
“We no longer think about Mr Jokowi; we no longer think about anyone else. How we guide this party forward is the command of the Chairperson,” he said.
“What is dead, do not try to revive,” he added.
Previously, it was reported that Achmad Hidayat’s meeting with Jokowi in Solo resulted in his dismissal from PDI Perjuangan. However, one detail Hidayat conveyed to the PDIP Central Executive Board from that meeting was Jokowi’s statement regarding his relationship with Megawati Soekarnoputri.
The PDIP Central Executive Board officially dismissed Surabaya PDIP branch member Achmad Hidayat from party membership as of 4 September 2026. The dismissal occurred after Hidayat visited Jokowi’s residence and advocated for the rehabilitation of Jokowi’s membership status within PDIP.
During the meeting, Hidayat claimed he was merely visiting and taking photos. He also took the opportunity to ask Jokowi about the harmony of national relations.
From that conversation, Hidayat subsequently informed the PDIP Central Executive Board regarding Jokowi’s statement concerning his relationship with Megawati.
“Even though it was just a private chat between the two of us, his delivery was, ‘I have no problem with Ibu Mega, and one day we must meet.’ That was the only part of the conversation I disclosed to the DPP,” he explained.
