Said Iqbal to be Inaugurated as Special Presidential Advisor This Afternoon

The President of the Labour Party, Said Iqbal, has announced that he will be inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto as the Special Presidential Advisor for the field of labour. The inauguration ceremony will be held at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, this afternoon, Monday, 8 June 2026.

“At 16:30 WIB, I will be inaugurated at the Palace as the Special Presidential Advisor for labour,” Said Iqbal stated when confirmed on Monday, 8 June 2026. He added that he had been contacted by the Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya, on Sunday evening, 7 June 2026, regarding the appointment.

Previously, the Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, had discussed the possibility of the Labour Party Chairman joining the Red and White Cabinet, noting that the opportunity was currently under discussion. While he did not specify the exact position, Prasetyo confirmed that the role would be related to labour and workers, reflecting Said Iqbal’s long-standing advocacy for the workforce.
