Said Iqbal Officially Appointed as Prabowo's Special Advisor for Labour
President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated the President of the Indonesian Confederation of Trade Unions (KSPI) and General Chairman of the Labour Party, Said Iqbal, as the Special Advisor to the President for Employment and Labour Welfare at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday afternoon. During the ceremony, President Prabowo administered the oath of office, which Iqbal took under the holy book.
In addition to Said Iqbal, Prabowo also inaugurated Nanik S. Deyang as the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). Nanik replaces Dadan Hindayana, who was previously dismissed by Prabowo. Furthermore, the President appointed two new Deputy Heads of the BGN, Agustina Arumsari and Major General (Rtd) Trenggono, to replace Lodewyk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya. Trenggono reportedly retired from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) to take up this position.
Following his dismissal, Dadan Hindayana was named a suspect by the Attorney General’s Office in connection with alleged corruption. Dadan was designated a suspect alongside two other Deputy Heads of the BGN, Lodewyk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya. Earlier on Monday afternoon, President Prabowo also received Letters of Credential from various Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
