Jakarta - The President of the Labour Party and President of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI), Said Iqbal, was officially inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto as the Special Advisor for Labour Affairs at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday. The inauguration follows the President’s mandate under Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 58/P of 2026 regarding the Appointment of the President’s Special Advisor for Labour Affairs and Worker Welfare.

During the ceremony, which commenced at 16:30 WIB, President Prabowo personally led the swearing-in process for several newly appointed officials. Alongside Said Iqbal, the ceremony included the inauguration of Nanik S. Deyang as Head of the BGN, Agustina Arlamari as Deputy Head of the BGN, and Retired Major General TNI Trenggono as Deputy Head of the BGN.

“By Allah, I swear that I will be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will implement all laws and regulations with the utmost integrity for my service to the nation and state. That in performing my official duties, I will uphold professional ethics and work to the best of my ability with full responsibility,” stated Said Iqbal during his oath of office, led by President Prabowo.

Following the oath, the newly appointed officials signed the official minutes of the inauguration. After the ceremony, President Prabowo, accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and members of the Red and White Cabinet, offered their congratulations to the new appointees.

Said Iqbal is a prominent figure in the labour movement through his leadership of KSPI before entering politics and running for Parliament via the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) in the 2009 General Election. He subsequently became the President of the Labour Party in 2021.

The inauguration was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, Speaker of the MPR Ahmad Muzani, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, Commander of the TNI General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Head of the Government Communications Agency (Bakom) Muhammad Qodari, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
