Said Hopes Prayers of Orphans and Widows Will Bring Blessings to PDIP

East Java PDIP (Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan) held a commemoration of Nuzulul Quran. The event drew 500 orphans and 50 destitute widows. Said Abdullah, chairman of the DPD PDIP Jatim, explained why the party invited orphans and widows to the event. Said wants PDIP to receive blessings from their prayers. ‘Why does the DPD PDI Perjuangan deliberately invite orphans? Earlier it was conveyed by Kiai Abdul Wahab Yahya, as Deputy Chairman for Religious Affairs of PDIP Jatim, that there are 500 orphans not because we want to receive blessings, not because Pak Deni, Mbak Reni, Mbah Kakung give blessings, not because the DPD PDIP Jatim gives blessings, but because everyone in the DPD PDIP Jatim wants to receive blessings from our orphans,’ Said, quoted by detikjatim, Thursday (5/3/2026). Said hopes prayers from orphans and widows can bring blessings to the party. In Islamic teaching, the prayers of orphans and widows are among prayers that Allah SWT answers. ‘So the nawaitu (intention) is that during this Nuzulul Quran evening, we sincerely hope for the prayers of the widows and orphans. Because the prayers of widows and orphans are answered by Allah SWT,’ he added. Said described PDIP as a party identified with wong cilik, wanting to celebrate religious moments with ordinary people, especially orphans and the underprivileged. ‘That is what we do because of our ideology, our love for our party as the party of wong cilik, PDIP together with wong cilik. Blessings are what we hope to obtain together with the mothers, widows, and orphans, God willing, blessings we will receive,’ he explained. The Chairman of the Banggar DPR RI (Budget Committee) hopes PDIP Jatim remains consistent in helping wong cilik and in formulating policies that are pro-people. ‘Hopefully this Ramadan will not be the last for us all. God willing, we will meet in Ramadan next year, and we will pray for long life, blessed life, and a life blessed by Allah SWT,’ he concluded. (akd/ega)
