Said Abdullah Conveys Megawati's Prayer During Pilgrimage at Bung Karno's Tomb

A national pilgrimage to mark the 56th Haul of Bung Karno was held at his tomb in Blitar City. The pilgrimage was attended by a number of party cadres and regional heads. Figures present included the Chairman of PDIP East Java, Said Abdullah; the Head of Ideology and Cadreisation at the Central Executive Board (DPP) of PDIP, Djarot Saiful Hidayat; the Mayor of Blitar, Syauqul Muhibbin; the Deputy Mayor of Blitar, Elim Tyu Samba; and the Regent of Blitar, Rijanto, along with residents and visitors. They welcomed the arrival of the entourage of PDIP Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri. Also present in the entourage were DPP PDIP Head of UMKM, Creative Economy, and Digital Economy, Prananda Prabowo, and Secretary-General of DPP PDIP, Hasto Kristiyanto. The entourage arrived at the location around 3 p.m. local time and promptly entered Bung Karno’s tomb. The group left the tomb after an hour of pilgrimage. After the closed-door pilgrimage, Said Abdullah conveyed the prayer hopes of PDIP Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri. According to Said, Megawati expressed hope that the Indonesian nation would become self-reliant and prosperous. ‘May this nation be prosperous, may this nation stand on its own feet. That is what Ibu conveyed in her prayer,’ said Said on Sunday (14/6/2026). Said also announced the completion of the renovation of Bung Karno’s childhood home, which is now a historical museum at Istana Gebang. The comprehensive renovation will be inaugurated tomorrow. ‘The cost was borne collectively by all DPD party officials, amounting to Rp 4.1 billion. The renovation covers everything,’ he stated. The renovation inauguration is planned to take place at Istana Gebang, Jalan Sultan Agung Number 59, Sananwetan Village, Sananwetan District, Blitar City, East Java. PDIP Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri is also scheduled to attend the event.
