Ahmad Sahroni, Deputy Chairman of Commission III in the Indonesian House of Representatives, stated that he would make a significant gesture following his six-month suspension. Sahroni announced that he would no longer accept his salary as an MP.

“The gesture is that my salary as a member of parliament, I want to hand over to the Kitabisa Foundation so it can be used to help those in need,” Sahroni said at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

Sahroni indicated that his salary would be donated to the humanitarian foundation. He has entrusted the foundation with full discretion over the allocation of these funds.

“Let Kitabisa decide where the aid is most needed and useful for those who need it. If we distribute it ourselves, sometimes some people know about it and others don’t. If we hand it over to Kitabisa, it’s reported in the open, in public,” he explained.

The NasDem party politician has committed to not accepting his parliamentary salary. He will donate his entire salary to the foundation through the end of his term in 2029.

“I won’t receive the salary. (I won’t accept the salary) until the end of my term. So when parliament’s secretariat sends my salary to my personal account, I’m asking them to set up an automatic transfer directly to Kitabisa’s account,” he said.

Sahroni was previously suspended for six months beginning in August 2025 following a ruling by the House Code of Ethics Council.
