Sahroni to Hotman Paris: I Can Assure You the President Does Not Wish to Be Dragged Into This

The lawyer for former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah, Hotman Paris, stated that the naming of his client as a suspect in alleged corruption and money laundering related to the handling of the PT Asabri case for the 2020-2024 period did not have the permission of President Prabowo Subianto. Responding to this, Deputy Chairman of House Commission III Ahmad Sahroni stressed that President Prabowo has committed to eradicating corruption, and law enforcement officials have investigated this case transparently. Therefore, there is no presidential involvement in the law enforcement process. “Bang Hotman Paris, there is no need to drag the President’s name into this, as if the President will be involved in law enforcement. In fact, from the beginning, the President has said he is committed to eradicating corruption. Furthermore, from the start, the Police and the Attorney General’s Office also agreed to resolve this case as fairly and transparently as possible,” Sahroni said in his written statement on Saturday, 18 July 2026. Sahroni further assured that President Prabowo does not wish for his name to be dragged into the vortex of the case process allegedly involving the former Jampidsus with the initials FA. “So yesterday’s statements seemed as if Bang Hotman was trying to bring the President into this matter. And I am certain the President does not wish to have his name dragged into it like that. I can confirm that,” said Sahroni.
