Sahroni Reveals Chronology of Extortion by Fake KPK Employee Demanding Rp300 Million
Jakarta – Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Ahmad Sahroni, has spoken out about the alleged extortion case against him by an individual claiming to be a representative of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) leadership.
Sahroni stated that the case began when a woman approached the DPR and requested a meeting with him. During the meeting, the woman introduced herself as a KPK leadership envoy and demanded Rp300 million from Sahroni.
“So the chronology is that a woman came to the DPR and asked to meet me. Then I met her, and she claimed to be a representative from the KPK leadership, and there she demanded Rp300 million for KPK leadership support,” said Sahroni on Friday, 10 April 2026.
Sahroni said he immediately confirmed with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) regarding the envoy. However, the KPK denied it.
“I immediately checked with the KPK, and the KPK denied having such an envoy,” he explained.
After confirming there was no official KPK envoy, Sahroni immediately coordinated with the anti-corruption agency and the police to apprehend the woman.
“The KPK then coordinated with Metro Jaya Police, and afterwards I reported this case to Metro Jaya Police. I then worked with Metro Jaya Police and the KPK to catch this person by providing the money at her house,” Sahroni clarified.
It was previously reported that the audacious actions of a scam syndicate posing as KPK employees were finally uncovered. Four perpetrators were arrested by a joint KPK and Metro Jaya Police team after allegedly extorting a DPR member for hundreds of millions of rupiah.
The victim in this case is no ordinary person. Police confirmed that the targeted member of parliament is Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI, Ahmad Sahroni.
“Correct (the victim is Ahmad Sahroni),” stated the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, on Friday, 10 April 2026.
