Sahroni: Handover of IDR 10 Trillion in State Funds to Enhance Public Trust

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI, Ahmad Sahroni, said that the Attorney General’s Office’s move to hand over IDR 10.27 trillion in state funds, which is the result of the work of the Task Force for the Rectification of Forest Areas, can increase public trust.

“The public certainly hopes that performances like this will continue, and this greatly increases trust,” said Sahroni in a statement in Jakarta, Friday.

The legal legislator is optimistic that under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto, the Attorney General’s Office will bring about major change through law enforcement efforts based on asset recovery.

He hopes that the money recovered from the results of these crimes can be used again for programs that benefit the community. With this pattern, he said, law enforcement has a real impact on the public.

“Money that was previously stolen can now be used to finance state programs, build public facilities, and help the people. Therefore, this pattern of work by the Attorney General’s Office should be made the new standard in combating corruption in the future,” he said.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto witnessed the handover of the results of the rectification in the form of administrative fines and the recovery of state finances amounting to IDR 10,270,051,886,464 at the Attorney General’s Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (May 13).

In front of President Prabowo, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, as Deputy Chairman I of the Steering Committee of the Task Force for the Rectification of Forest Areas, symbolically handed over the amount to Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.

On that occasion, the handover of state assets in the form of national park areas resulting from the recovery by the Task Force for the Rectification of Forest Areas, covering an area of 2,373,171.75 hectares, was also carried out from the Attorney General to the Minister of Forestry, Raja Juli Antoni.

The seventh phase of oil palm plantations resulting from the recovery by the Task Force for the Rectification of Forest Areas, covering an area of 2,373,171.75 hectares, was also handed over from the Attorney General to the Minister of Finance, which was then continued to the CEO of Danantara, Dony Oskaria, and then to the President Director of PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara, Mohammad Abdul Ghani.
