Sahroni: Dadan Hindayana's Arrest Proves Prabowo Is Serious About Corruption

The performance of law enforcement agencies, particularly the Attorney General’s Office and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), has recently come under public scrutiny. Both institutions have just arrested senior state officials, including the head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, and his two deputies, as well as the Deputy Minister of Immigration and Correctional Services, Silmy Karim.

Seeing this, House of Representatives Commission III Deputy Chairman Ahmad Sahroni is optimistic about President Prabowo’s leadership. According to him, this is proof that the law is working and that the state does not discriminate in prosecuting criminals.

Many parties have been pushing a narrative that ‘Indonesia is not okay’ due to the recent arrests of state officials. In my view, however, the state is actually cleaning house through the Attorney General’s Office and the KPK. This proves the law is working without favouritism. So, President Prabowo’s leadership is actually heading in a better direction. Therefore, if there are strange narratives, they give the impression of resistance from parties who cannot accept this clean-up agenda, Sahroni stated on Friday, 5 June 2026.

Furthermore, Sahroni said this clean-up agenda is a stern warning from President Prabowo to all subordinates who still intend to harm the people. Essentially, the President is cleaning up all sectors. This is a hard warning to all parties that President Prabowo means business. If there was a clear crime by a corruptor and no arrest was made, that would be when Indonesia is truly not okay. So do not underestimate the president’s attitude, said Sahroni.
