Safrizal: Aceh's Post-Disaster Recovery Shows Significant Progress
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the Aceh Regional Task Force Post for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PPR), Safrizal Zakaria Ali, stated that post-disaster recovery in Aceh Province continues to demonstrate significant progress.
Safrizal also emphasised that this recovery development is highly dynamic, with percentage achievements potentially changing from day to day.
“Progress data always moves in line with field dynamics. A bridge that has just been reported as completed may become damaged again due to certain conditions and then completed once more later. The same applies to other aspects, so percentage achievements can change from day to day,” said Safrizal in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He conveyed this during a media gathering in Banda Aceh. He also affirmed that rehabilitation achievements are being accelerated continuously, with several aspects of public services nearly fully restored.
Safrizal explained that in terms of government services, out of 18 affected districts/cities, 10 regions have returned to normal.
Mud cleanup efforts have also shown significant results, with 92% of locations successfully addressed. For locations still requiring handling, coordination is ongoing to prepare heavy equipment and other supporting resources.
For temporary bridge infrastructure, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has completed 97 units, while the National Police (Polri) has finished 95% of the set targets.
The health sector is also gradually recovering, with all 23 district/city public hospitals (RSUD) and 309 community health centres (Puskesmas) fully operational, and 99.6% of auxiliary community health centres already functioning.
The education sector is similarly progressing, with 3,120 affected schools resuming normal teaching and learning activities.
In terms of housing, the construction of temporary housing (Huntara) has reached 91% completion, while permanent housing (Huntap) is beginning to be realised with support from various institutions.
This media gathering was attended by members of the Aceh Task Force Post PRR, representatives from ministries/institutions, technical agencies, and dozens of journalists from the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI), Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI), Indonesian Television Journalists’ Association (IJTI), Alliance of Independent Media (AMSI), Indonesian Regional Press Company Association (SMSI), and various local and national media.
